A
bright sunny day greeted the 30
starters making up the 14 teams taking part. First up was
Tievenadarragh Forest. Nothing that could be considered steep
but at the same time demanding good bike control through the
tracks made by Trial bikes 2 years previous. Then on to Bohill
Forrest via a very water logged grassy lane before the steep
climb into the 11 Acre wood and returning to the control via
Rocky Lane (more water)
From the control point it was
back to Tievenadarragh for just one point then back to Bohill
before a short climb into point twelve "the roost"
which has one of the best views in the district. Just when
they think "this is easy" it is time to enter
Forde's estate. No great assents, nearly flat most of the way,
just there is a lot of running water and some very big puddles
in the 2 miles of lane before returning to the next control.
For those that want more it's
back to Forde's estate to take on a very muddy lane then back
through the grassy lane before a challenging 2 points in
Tievenadarragh forest and on to the finish and a bowl of soup
Brennan's restaurant.
