10 mile Individual Time Trial - Downpatrick Road, Ballynahinch

4 September 2008

Round 19 and it was back to attempt the Downpatrick Road just outside of Ballynahinch (map).  Back on 31 July 2008 this event was cancelled due to some very wet weather and poor visibility.  Tonight was overcast initially with light winds but later the sky cleared and we were treated to beautiful evening sunlight.  Twenty one riders showed up for tonight's 10 mile time trial which kicked off earlier than usual due to the shorter nights.  Nigel Sudlow initially helped out with the timekeeping but couldn't resist giving it a go tonight and set himself off last (sorry Nigel you don't get two sets of points for doing both!).  James Gilpin got the maximum 40 points tonight towards the club league after another night of continued improvement on his time trialing skills.  Well done James.
