9.75 mile Individual Time Trial - Lackan Road, Ballyroney

Round 6 of Dromara CC's club league was held this evening at the distant venue of the Lackan Road, Ballyroney. Another nineteen riders showed up for the 9.75 mile time trial, just short of the 10 miles due to the necessity of finding a suitable location to 'turn'. This week's entry included three guests from three clubs, Roger Aiken (Banbridge), Stephen Heasley (Lantern Rouge) and the regular David Cartmill (West Down Wheelers). The sign on was held just over the old railway bridge and the riders headed east towards Castlewellan (map)

The weather was again kind with clear blue skies, little wind but cooler than previous evenings this week. Derek Hanna was again acting as timekeeper and had got the riders started early tonight, 7:03 pm, which meant that the whole event was over by 8 pm. Many thanks again Deek. Well done to both Stephen Heasley and Judith Robinson for completing their first time trials.
