Tuesday 28 Dec seen the largest
turnout yet to one of our orienteering events with 48 making
up the 24 teams.
The teams had just 2 hours to
locate as many of 22 controls as possible with penalties of 5
points deducted for each minute late on return.
These controls had
different values and all where marked on the map but for the 3
highest scoring which the teams had to plot themselves.
Only 2 teams managed all the
controls within the time, both from Newry Wheelers. They had
to be shifting! I clocked 1hr 8 min ride time alone over 11.78
mile while lifting the punches after the event. Considering I
new where I was going and my stop time was not counted they
hadn't wasted any time.
You can view the results here
or if you like you can download the
excel sheet
Thanks to all those who turned
up and made the event a success, we hope you enjoyed your day.
The next one we have planned
will be Sun 13th Jan. Starting from Dromara Football club.
More details soon. Photos to follow
My apologies for the
confusion regarding the duration today. We had intended to run
for just 1.5 hours today but then changed to 2 hours later.
The correct info was on the maps. Will have to remember to
make a list changes in the future and give a briefing before
the start. Bob, with "L" plates
