What a weekend of cycling from Dromara CC that would see Dromara marshalled by Dromara CC in support of the John Beggs Memorial hosted by Banbridge Cycling Club followed the next day by Dromara CC putting on one of the toughest Sportives around - The Dromara "Hilly".

Getting underway on Friday evening; the first stage takes the riders on a 43 mile route. There are three KOH points; the long climb of Scraghey on the menu.
The following day, Saturday, is a split stage with a flat 2.5 miles TT in Omagh in the morning. That is followed by a 46 mile road stage in the afternoon.

Dromara CC’s “Hilly” Leisure cycle, which is to be held on Sunday 13th August 2017, is now open for entries! This event has become well established over the years as a popular event on the leisure calendar. A tough but rewarding cycling test, the Hilly is an excellent “target” event for those riders who want a challenging sportive to train for through the summer. This year our chosen charity will be the Mourne Mountain Rescue Team.

For those that don't know last weekend was the Irish National TT/Road Championships held down in Wexford. Its all very well watching these top cyclists race around the roads at the Giro or the Tour but it is very different to put your wheel on the start line beside them. Sunday 25 June 2017 saw Round 4 of the Irish Cross-country Mountain Bike National Point Series being held at Bellurgan Park near Dundalk County Louth. Hosted by Cuchulainn Cycling Club. The Dromara CC MTB squad sent a few members along to add the already quality field of riders.
