Dromara Festival & Bike Week 2004

Good weather brings 59 children to cycling gymkhana

 

Tuesday the 8th of June at 7.00 pm saw the annual children’s cycling gymkhana as part of the Dromara Village Festival.  A new venue this year was St Johns Church car park.  The event was run by the members of Dromara Cycling Club.  Before the gymkhana Seamus Downey Cycles carried out a safety check on every bicycle.  Each of the 59 children competing had to contest five different tasks, including a see-saw.  Each event was timed and there were three winners in each age group.  Prizes were given out by the club secretary Trevor Annett.  The winners were as follows:

Wining Trailquest team Mandy Millar and sister Diane Patterson managed to visit all 25 locations only loosing 40 points out of a possible 660 after returning 4 minutes late to the finish.
