Where’s Paul Smyth?

Thursday night seen another good turnout for the weekly towpath run on the mountain bikes, four of which are new recruits to the club.

As usual those feeling the pace split from the main bunch opting for the flat route when he came to the hills in Belvoir. On return to the main carpark someone asked, “where’s Paul”. I said that I thought he had went with the others but no, it was thought he was at the back.

So we split up and searched the forest, but no Paul. We even spotted the others heading back up on the other side of the river and shouted to them that we had lost one and to wait for us at Shaw’s bridge. A half hour had passed and still no sign, by this time we started to get concerned.

I radioed the others and told them to head back and if they seen Paul to let us know as he may have headed for the car. Alistair radioed back with “Paul who, we have a Paul Smyth here”

Well, we caught up with the others just as the arrived back to the cars. Jim said, “we may not be as fit as the rest of you, but at least we can count!”

Oh and just for anyone trying to keep count Ronnie only fell off the once this time, stupid tree!
