Dromara Cycling Club
Christmas Dinner and Awards Night 2012

12 December 2012

On Friday 7 December 2012 Dromara Cycling club held their annual Christmas dinner and awards night.  This year we went to the Pheasant restaurant in Annahilt, County Down where we occupied the whole of the first floor with 65 members and guests.  Diners arrived from 7:20 pm with food coming out around 8:30.  The restaurant is known for its fine cuisine and it did not fail to impress.  As in previous years we started awarding the trophies between courses with the first trophy going to Ben Wilson who had a great season racing in the Under 10s.  There was large collection of trophies to hand out with the largest number going to Gavin Magowan who had had a great year on the bike.  The awards included some humourous certificates provided by our in house artist Neill Currie.  These were meet with great appreciation from the receiver and great laughter from the rest of us.

In addition there was a raffle at the end of the night.  Special thanks to the members for the prizes which included bottles of wine, tubes, overshoes, tools, books, a jersey and a bike horn.

The business of the night took up most of the evening and before we knew it it was time for last orders and home.  Many thanks to the staff in the Pheasant for looking after us.
