2017 Downpatrick Third World Group Annual Charity Cycle Tour

On Sunday 30th April 2017 the Third World Pedal Pushers will once again, be holding their annual charity cycle tour, ranging from 10 miles to 60 miles.
This is a very popular tour which caters for families as well as the “serious” cyclist.

The family tour is approximately 10 miles from Downpatrick Cricket Club to the Villager restaurant car park in Crossgar (where light refreshments are supplied), and back. Riders can ride safely on the footpath which is great for the kids!  Back at the Cricket Club, there will be more substantial refreshments to feed those aching legs!

The main tour is approximately 60 miles (100 kms) long, taking in some of County Down’s spectacular scenery. The general route is Downpatrick-Clough-Castlewellan-Bryansford-Newcastle-
Dundrum-Clough-Tyrella-Killough-Ardglass-Strangford-Downpatrick.
Refreshments will be provided for participants at Dundrum Inner Bay lay-by and then back at Downpatrick Cricket Club.

Registration from 9:15 am at the Cricket Club with start time at 10 am.
Motorcycle marshals and backup vehicles will support both routes.
Entry fees to be paid at registration on the day.
£10/cyclist or £12/family.

Note: Cyclists who are not members of Cycling Ireland or the CTC can take out a one-day leisure insurance for £5 (Youth £2).

Please note that ALL proceeds of this vital tour go to projects in the Third World countries.  We would love you to complete a Gift Aid form on the day.

As in all previous years, expect a great day of cycling!
