Round 16 – 16m TT Ballynahinch to Hillsborough and back

What a peach of an evening that saw the start of Round 16 of the Club league (where did they all go!). With great weather brings out great cyclists wanting to test their skills against DCC’s best TT specialists, however with Froome still not recovered from his injury & Contrador’s leg break who was left. Thankfully a few talented guests turned up.

On the right of the photo is Sean McIntyre who won the Ulster 50mile TT in an unbelieveable  1hr 47m with John Heverin who wasnt far behind in 3rd with a time of 1hr 48m, so it was safe to assume these two might give Gavin a run for his money.

When the dust had settled and all 36 DCC riders and 6 guests had crossed the line it was time to check who had won and who would have won if the wind had been different, bike hadnt been squeaking, legs had of been better, the cold had……. you get the idea.

The fastest man of the night was Sean McIntyre (Orchard Wheelers) in a time of 34:15 with John Heverin (Clainn Eireann) in second with a time 34:41. For those thinking that those times are a mistake alas they are not.

Gavin M was the fastest DCC man of the night at 36:54, Chris M grabbed second at 38:16 and Brendan D had a super ride with a time of 38:27 (rumours are that if he had a super duper TT bike he would have 4mins 13secs of his time – lucky for Sean he doesnt have one)

Across the rest of the field there were some fantastic times with some giving the 16 mile TT their first go. Others have been beg borrowing and stealing TT bikes for extra speed.

With such a busy a road it is important to try and keep riders safe as much as possible. This week we saw the appearance of some top drawer marshals.
