Club Road League 2020 Update
The club road league calendar is, more or less, decided now. As per last year we are part of an inter-club league between Dromore Cycling Club and West Down Wheelers (WDW). This year we have more rounds and variety compared to last year with 9 x individual Time Trials (TTs), 3 x Hill Climbs (HCs) and 7 x Road Races(RR)/Aussie Pursuits(AP). Not to mention the 3 x Team Time Trials (TTT) for the Interclub.
Dromore CC are hosting a TT on 31st March on the Rathfriland Road Course so I’m going to use that as a warmup round and base the league handicaps off that.
I’ll be using the best 14 of 18 point scoring rounds for the championship. And we have a bit of a break around July to accommodate holidays.
As usual, Dromara Cycling Club riders will be expected to assist in marshalling 2 rounds out of the 8 we are hosting to take part in the league. Please email me at darren@dromaracc.co.uk to volunteer for a round. Volunteer early to avoid being asked to cover one you’d otherwise rather have raced.
Time trial handicaps use the same winning formula as the last few years. Road race groupings will be based on licence category, perceived form, wind direction, fairies and my general mood. Hill Climbs will not be handicapped.
In the table below you can see what events are on, which ones score points for our own league and which ones score points for the inter-club league.
