Club League Round 3 – Downpatrick Rd 2-UP

In case anyone had forgotten we are well into Spring and as we all know, the weather is predictably hot with a calm breeze. Alas enough about Mallorca and back to the reality that although it looks warm and inviting outside you can be sure that the wind will be extra strong in Northern Ireland. The first 5 miles would be glorious however turning back into the wind was top of everyone’s mind.

With this being the first League Round to count there had been lots of secret meetings the week before trying to find the perfect partner that would lead you around this 10 mile circuit.

The turn out was excellent with some 40 plus riders ready to race. The fastest pair on the night were the Magowans in a hugely impressive 23:13 which is up there with some of the quickest times over the course. In second pairing of the night were Gareth Kirkwood and Neil Currie showing that all that training over on the east coast is paying off. To complete the podium places Tommy Downey & Gary Bailie finished under the 26mins.
